Introduction

“Who can despise the day of humble beginning?” Zech 4:10.

28th March 1922 was the day of humble beginning, when our Patriarchs met prayerfully, in the Methodist Church at Ajmer to plan and decide the inception of The Rajasthan Christian Convention.

Rev. E. M. Rugg (American Methodist Missionary) and Rev. Alexander Maclesh (Scottish Presbyterian Missionary) were among the then missionaries and other Christian leaders who laid the foundation thought for this great movement, known as The Rajasthan Christian Convention.

Led by the Holy Spirit, our forefathers decided to hold the Convention in the premises of Husband Memorial School, Ajmer in the year 1922.

The Convention was initially named “Rajputana Christian Convention”, in Pre-independence era. It was renamed as Rajasthan Christian Convention after Independence.

The founder patriarchs must have hardly thought that their meek effort, started with prayer would cross its Platinum era. Generations, since 1922, have seen the Mighty hand of God, our Father, leading this covenant Convention year after year.

Our faith is strengthened, as we read
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you…” Isaiah 43:2.

The pulpit of the Rajasthan Christian Convention for years together has been blessed by the eminent anointed servants of God, to name a few Sadhu Sundar Singh (1925), Bro. Bhakht Singh (1937), Rev. Abdul Haqq (1940), Rev. Dr. Akbar Abdul Haqq (1971 & 1996), Rev. Rodrick Roberts (1985), Rev. Richard Howell (1992), Dr. Don Stanton (1996), Dr. R. Stanley (2005), Dr. Robert Cunville (2006). The Word of God flown out in purity and power from these servants of God, enriched and nourished the humble faith of many a locals. Thousands of souls have dedicated and re-dedicated their lives at the alter of this Convention every year. The powerful Word of God has made many lives to humble themselves down on their knees, surrendering into the ever open hands of the God Almighty. The Convention Shamiyana (the Tent) has been a witness to many such souls.
